Introducing The Foundation Stage Philosophy at BON (FS1 and FS2)

At BON we are committed to developing future change makers and innovators. We strongly believe that when children are empowered to tap into and use their imagination, then magical creative thinking is developed. At BON we will explore and encourage the children’s creativity and imagination through the curriculum and empowering learning environment to develop their innovation skills.

The Foundation Stage at BON is designed to support children’s holistic development, creativity, imagination, and empowerment through a strong understanding of how children learn best through play and teaching practices that are routed in academic rigour. It is also fully KHDA approved.

Our Foundation Stage One (FS1) curriculum fully incorporates the 7 areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and includes a balance of child led and adult led activities. We plan activities that help the children build their developmental skills across all the areas of learning, such as Expressive Arts, Phonics, Writing etc. All our teaching and learning activities are planned after careful and accurate assessment and observation of each of our children so that we can plan for their immediate learning needs and ensure they make progress every day.

Our Foundation Stage Two (FS 2) curriculum builds upon the fantastic start the children have already made in their FS1 year. We continue to fully incorporate the 7 areas of learning in line with the EYFS and provide a balance of child and adult led learning activities in an empowering play-based learning environment. We provide teaching and learning activities such as daily Phonics and Spoken Language sessions along with small group activities such as Guided Writing and Guided Reading sessions.

Our BON mindfulness experts are also proud to introduce the U.A.E’s first research-based self-regulation program to promote Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in the early years and integrate a Mindful Awareness Program (MAP) in young children.
