7 Principles of BON

British Orchard Nursery follows the British EYFS framework, which is structured around seven interconnected areas of learning and development

Communication and Language
We provide a language-rich environment where children are encouraged to look at and listen to adults and other children, speak, and communicate effectively through a variety of activities such as singing and music, copying adult’s speech, learning new vocabulary and storytelling, role-play, and group discussions.

Personal, Social, and Emotional Development
We support children's social and emotional well-being and foster positive relationships by being interested in what our babies and young learners are engaged by and implementing our ‘Key Person’ approach. We promote self-regulation and nurture their sense of self-esteem and belonging within the Nursery.

Physical Development
We promote the development of gross and fine motor skills through purposeful play, outdoor exploration, and structured activities such as tummy time, movement and music, dance, yoga, and developing manipulative and hand-eye coordination skills.
